On My End
Matt Alberts weekly@webcom.com
Welcome to the first February issue of the Weekly Bookmark. In
the course of the next couple of weeks, you will begin to see
some changes here at the Weekly Bookmark. Thom Byxbe and
Knowledge Technologies, Inc. will begin to assist me in
redisigning the Weekly Bookmark and how it is distributed.
Don't fret if you see a couple of test messages in your
mailbox, it's just Thom testing the server. Also, the changes
will not affect the content of the Weekly Bookmark. It will
only improve the outward appearance.
So, for now, enjoy this early edition and hang on to your
seats.

Foreign Languages for Travelers
After you have scoped out your next trip via the OnLine
Fodor's, you may discover you need to bone up on the
language of that soon to be visited land. No problem.
When you visit Foreign Languages for Travelers, you will
click on the flag of the nation and come into immediate
contact with important language lessons so you don't
starve. Great site to visit even if you aren't travelling
and even better for teachers who wish to introduce their
students to the tongues of the world in a practical way.

RockWeb Interactive
We have extensive multimedia home sites for bands, both
signed and unsigned, interactive interviews with
musicians and reports from music festivals. Our popular
music webchat, From the Hip, is busy most hours with
people from all around the world.
We feature artwork from rock n' roll related artists and
live concert footage from various videographers. We are
working in conjunction with the Save the Earth Foundation
as part of their rock memorabilia auction to bring
interviews with Santana, Jeff Beck and Robert Cray to the
Web. These interviews, as well as much of our featured
content, make use of RealAudio technology.
Our Jerry Garcia Tribute site was NCSA's Pick of the
Week, both it and RockWeb as a whole, received Point
Communications Top 5% of the Web Honors, and a Webbie for
our efforts! The goal of our site as a whole is to allow
the best in people to come through the web to affect
people with their words, art and music. I think we have
done that and that people appreciate it; please come by
and experience it for yourself. We welcome your comments
if you visit.
